In the Guangxi regional selection of the Robot Welding event at the 2023 National Second Vocational Skills Competition, Yuchai participant Liu Yingjia secured the fifth position

 On June 3rd to 4th, the Guangxi Regional Selection for the Robot Welding event of the 2023 National Second Vocational Skills Competition, jointly organized by the Guangxi Human Resources and Social Security Department and the Welding Sub-Association of the Guangxi Construction Machinery Association, took place at the Guangxi Technological College of Machinery and Electricity. Yuchai participant Liu Yingjia secured the fifth position. The top two contestants in this competition will participate in the Guangxi-level training, and in September, they will represent Guangxi in the national competition held in Tianjin.

This competition is considered the elite tournament of welding technology in Guangxi. Only individuals who hold the title of "Skilled Technician" at the municipal level or higher are qualified to participate. All participants from various organizations have been awarded the honor of "Guangxi Skilled Technician." This competition has the highest technical qualification requirements for participants in the history of welding technology competitions in Guangxi.

The welding robot system used in the competition was provided by a local robot equipment manufacturer in Guangxi, "安博特." Most participants had little prior exposure to this equipment, and they began using it in the competition after getting familiar with the system on June 1st and 2nd. This competition offered the shortest timeframe for participants to understand the equipment and power supply characteristics since the inception of welding technology competitions. To achieve outstanding results, participants need to possess solid manual welding skills, proficiency in utilizing new-brand robots, robot welding technology, robot programming through teaching, and robot welding processes.
